Safety

The Road Safety Unit in Trafford provide a range of materials for schools on safety activities for all primary school age ranges. These resources cover such topics as:

· be seen at night

· The Green Cross Code

· people who help us

· living with traffic

· hazards on the roads

· safer places to cross

One school used these materials as the basis of a Safety week. The school ran safety competitions and each class contributed to a "Safety Assembly".

Each year group also contributed to a large wall display on Safety. Pupil Road Safety Officers were trained in First Aid and Accident Procedures.

The week was a great success and one pupil commented in his evaluation of the activities: "As Road Safety Officers we feel confident that if anyone was involved in an accident we are able to help".
